Kanilai International Cultural Festival presents:Jermaine Jackson & The Jackson's tribute to Michael Jackson A significant highlight of this thrilling Kanilai Festival, will be the first tribute ever dedicated to the memories of the late Michael Jackson, the King of Pop music, by his Brother and Member of the much celebrated Jackson Five, Jermaine Jackson, on the 29th May 2010 at the Independence Stadium, Bakau.
Similarly, The Gambia is the setting, and home of Kunta Kinteh, the great and brave Hero of the documentary “Roots”, a poignant saga by Alex Haley, who has done an illustrious job of not only bringing to light our common ancestral heritage, but also bridging the gap between the Africans and Africa’s children in the Diaspora. For our brothers and sisters in the Diaspora, the festival provides the unique opportunity for them to be in touch with their roots in Africa, and to discover and share experiences with diverse people from all over the world.
